Not only am I a black person traveling in Eastern Europe, but I am black female person living in the Eastern Europe (I am a black woman in Serbia)!
I don’t think being a black person in Eastern Europe is a huge issue in regards to traveling. Sure, depending on where I travel to, I do occasionally receive some inappropriate comments or annoying questions. But that is honestly not very common. And the inappropriate comments are usually from guys awkwardly flirting. Poor them. But comments are never mean-spirited!
I understand that we live in a world of misunderstandings and lack of perfect communication between other countries and our own, which is why I have created a space on my blog to cover topics related to being a black traveler. You can find them here. Please, let them settle your worries. Better yet, I hope you can relate!
